We were sad to leave Puerto Rico to head back to the November 2025 fall chill. What made it easier was the view out the window of the recently set sun with the light playing in the clouds below. The heavy moist tropical air always makes for amazing sunsets and that night. When I saw the photo I decided I really wanted to paint that memory. This painting is the result. Although the depiction of that moment is fairly color true, I know in my memory it was warmer than the hue in the photo. I'm going to go back in and do some washes over the clouds to bring that warmth out.
